ExxonMobil is a company with endless opportunities for engineering. This talk illustrated the multi-faceted nature of materials engineering in the world of refining, as well as the research and development side of the business.  What are the most common materials used in refining?  What are some of our biggest challenges today in material sustainability?  What is risk, and how does it affect daily engineering decisions?  These questions and more were explored in an attempt to convey what it really means to be a materials engineer at ExxonMobil.
